What You Awakened in Me
What happens when you meet someone with whom, for the first time, you can be completely yourself, without having to explain or hide anything?
For years, I lived mostly in my head. Thinking, analysing, anticipating and finding solutions. It was how I approached life, and I had never really known anything different.
I usually let people get close to me cautiously. Trust had to develop little by little before I could lower my defences.
Until I met someone with whom none of that seemed necessary.
It was as though we understood each other without words. As though I recognised in another person a part of myself I had been unable to see for years.
For the first time, I didn’t have to take down my walls one by one. They simply fell away.
That connection was difficult to describe. It wasn’t just about understanding or caring deeply for someone. It was also about recognising myself in what I saw and felt in the other person.
And perhaps that was the most extraordinary part: by getting to know someone else, I began, for the first time, to discover myself in an entirely different way.
Without immediately realising it, something fundamental changed in how I experienced myself and life.
Ce que tu as réveillé en moi is about that discovery.
About an unexpected connection, an understanding that needs no words, and the remarkable feeling of finally being able to be completely yourself.
Sometimes someone doesn’t come into your life to change you.
Sometimes they simply help you discover who you truly are, without all the walls you’ve built around yourself.
