Deep Dives

Some subjects need more space than a single chapter.

Phoenix Journey largely follows a chronological story.

But not everything fits neatly into a timeline.

Some experiences keep returning.
Some patterns only become visible later.
And sometimes one event raises questions that go far beyond that single moment.

That is where the Deep Dives begin.

Stepping outside the story for a moment

In these texts, I do not necessarily follow events in chronological order.

I take one subject, experience or insight and look at it more closely.

Relationships and the dynamics that develop within them.
Boundaries and self-image.
Loss and change.
Patterns that repeat themselves.
And the way our experiences can change how we see ourselves and others.

Sometimes a text begins with something I experienced myself.

Sometimes with an insight that only became clear much later.

And sometimes with something I come across and suddenly recognise in my own story.

Not answers, but a deeper look

These Deep Dives are not guides and they are not an attempt to decide what is true for other people.

They begin with my own experiences, my reflections and what I am trying to understand along the way.

That also means my perspective can change.

New information can reveal another layer.
Distance can place an experience in a different light.
And something that once seemed obvious can later turn out to be much more complex.

That is exactly why this space exists.

Not only to describe what happened, but also to reflect on what it meant.

The Deep Dives

Here you will find the themes and reflections that go beyond the chronological story.

  • Recognition and Healing After a Toxic Relationship – A Personal Perspective

Why I’m sharing this Some people ask why I share such personal experiences in public. My answer is simple: because recognition opens healing. Because silence holds pain. And because those who live with the consequences of a toxic relationship often end up doubting their own experience. I don’t write to accuse, but to understand. Not…

  • What Gabor Maté showed me about my own story

    1. How I found him I had reached a point where something no longer felt right. Not in what I did, but in how I lived. My body was sending signals I could no longer ignore: fatigue, tension, resistance to things I used to do without hesitation. My mind didn’t understand, but my system was…

  • Living with a Narcissist — Why I Stayed, What I Lost, and How I Came Back to Myself

“Why did you stay so long?” That’s the question people sometimes ask when they hear my story. But that question rarely touches the truth.I didn’t stay because I was weak.I stayed because my inner compass was still tunedto a map I was handed as a child. A childhood shaped for survival I grew up in a…
